- sector jobs created with this president is more than were created under george bush. you have a president who basically inherited one of the worst economies that this country has ever seen. of course, what will you do with a falling object? that object will fall and you have to pick up and the rise back up will be a little bit slower. what you have seen is that coming in the 30 months, 4.6 million new jobs, he has already created more jobs centers w. bush. this is a president who understands how to get the economy going and this election should bebethese two candidates, who actually has a plan about the future? given his record, i have more confidence that president obama can get that done than governor romney appeared >> -- then governor romney. >> right now, you're trying to get a sales tax increase to pay for pre-k. can you defend, sitting next to someone who does not like texas famously, the decision to brought to market with a tax increase even for something you so strongly believe in? many mayors are with yo but there are a lot of elected officials and san antonio who are not with y

at american enterprise institute and former speechwriter for president george w. bush. mark, what the intel services are telling us now is that not only was what she said not true, but this administration knew it wasn't true and they knew it for several days. not only did they know this was a terrorist attack, but, they knew it had been listed officially inside the government as a terrorist attack. that they were searching for the suspects. that it was an attack on u.s. soil, which a u.s. consulate is. and the first u.s. ambassador to be killed since 1979. they knew all that when susan rice was sent out to tell us it was in response to a video and just a spontaneous act. what, please put this in perspective for us. >> well, let's have the most generous interpretation possible for this administration. when eli lake broke the story, why i think it is wrong, this is only explanation possible. when eli lake broke the story. megyn: "daily beast". >> yeah for "the daily beast", soon after the attack we had a pretty good bead on some of the individuals involved in the attack. another one said we h

george w. bush used to say that? mitt romney needs to figure out, let's say he's down three, five, ten points. he needs to figure out how to define his message and get to the people of those swing states and pretend like he is actually down in the polls. you usually fight harder when you are. >> steve: there is no doubt the main stream media has the deck stacked against mitt romney. and if they are stacking the deck with the polls as well, at least we're telling you that's a possibility. we asked you for some e-mail. judy in florida says, quote, i definitely feel the media tweaking the polls to give the appearance everybody wants president obama to win and to take away momentum from mitt romney. i think people will be surprised, quite surprised on election day. >> brian: no doubt, says jason, governor romney must break through the media bias by being aggressive and be on message and discuss the failures of the president. you can be aggressive and not personal. that's one of the concerns. what you are describing is a concern about our show. live, we could have fun. the daily show, they

. 25.4% know more jobs were created in the first term of barack obama then the last term of george bush. that is a claim you see back- and-forth in advertising about who lost jobs and gained jobs. public confusion is to be expected. 31% knew that when mitt romney was governor of massachusetts, job growth in massachusetts improved. a claim in which democrats are trying to muddy the waters. in a long way to go in terms of improving public knowledge. we see deceptions that have been reinforced a lot in advertisements. 53.8% know that the statements are not accurate. barack obama has dropped all work requirements for individuals receiving welfare. 53.8% now that is not accurate. the rest either have the answer wrong or say they do not know. 41.6% know that this statement is not accurate -- mitt romney says that as president he will work to make abortion illegal in all circumstances. deceptions in ads being believed need more public knowledge. next slide. on matters of background knowledge, in which the item was in the news for an extended period, they have higher levels of background base k

that are he proposed are policies that can be portrayed as being just like george w. bush's policies. he must talk about the future. he has to persuade people he has a plan going forward. his problem is that most of his plans wreak of the past, and the obama campaign will attack him for that. but if he doesn't pivot to the future, he's just going to lose this election because people have now decided right now that more or less they think barack obama's better on the economy, and that's the biggest change in the polls recently is obama taking the lead for the first time in who voters trust going forward. >> and he doesn't have a message that is consistent. because in ohio, he confused his tax message. so if he is going to offer tax cuts and then say but you will have the same amount of money because i'm going to eliminate deductions, but president obama actually didn't increase your taxes, which was a misstatement of his past -- in the last 48 hours, he has completely muddled his tax message, and you can't do that as a republican and win against an incumbent president who's popular. >> the rom

were in charge during the george w. bush administration, there were at least a dozen attacks on u.s. embassies and consulates. you know, governor romney likes to use the term peace through strength which he borrows from ronald reagan. during the reagan administration, our embassy and marine barracks were bombs in beirut. and the last time these folks were in charge -- and believe me, it would be the same folks running the foreign policy establishment if you elected mitt romney -- these folks led us into the most disastrous foreign policy decision in a generation which was the invasion of iraq. it empowered iran, it created a trillion dollars of debt charged on the national credit card, it killed more than 4,000 americans, it wounded more than 30,000, it left hundreds of thousands of iraqis dead or displaced. and yet these folks want us to hand the keys of foreign policy back to them? it's, it's -- i mean, the nerve of the individuals who drug us into the worst foreign policy disaster in the middle east in a generation, to say that they somehow understand this region better is, it'
